What is Yoga & Meditation?

Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is an art and science of healthy living and a systematic practice of physical exercise, breath control, relaxation.

 

Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.

Beginner Poses to Try

Child's Pose
Child's Pose stretches the lower back, hips, thighs, knees, and ankles. It also helps elongate the back and shoulders.
Downward-Facing Dog
Downward facing dog strengthens the arms and back while simultaneously stretching the hamstrings and calves. It also helps relieve back pain.
Cobra Pose
Cobra Pose strengthens the back, increases flexibility, and stretches the chest and shoulders.
Bridge Pose
Bridge Pose stretches the chest, back, and neck muscles. It also strengthens the back and hamstrings.
